Back in 2003 the UK Hard dance scene was at the peak of its powers and the London scene was buzzing. A young man from Russia arrived in London and started hitting the clubs with his newfound friends. The young man would go onto become DJ Alex Burn. He developed a taste for the finer things hard dance had to offer. Weekenders hitting the dance floor at parties like Frantic, Sundissential, Heat UK, Wildchild, Polysexual and Tidy led him to become a massive fan of Phil Reynolds, Lee Haslam, Guyver, The Tidy Boys and Lisa Lashes. 2 years into his clubbing career he became curious about how it would be on the other side of the decks!
Honing his skills on a cheap set of belt drives, he then set himself up with some 1210’s and a mixer and the progress began. He made strides and was holding down sets within 6 months and playing regular house parties and squat raves. Around 2007 Alex got a chance to work for London hard dance event “Recreation”. Helping out with promotion he gained his first set in “Club Life” in Vauxhall. Over the next 18 months he became a regular guest on UFM (Hard Drive) radio show and played 4 times for “Recreation” supporting some of the biggest names in hard dance, gaining vital club experience. This was a good period but nothing compared to what was in store for DJ Alex Burn in 2012.
After an introduction to the famous hard dance producer Tom parr, Alex arranged some studio time and the resulting track ”Open Your Heart” was released on friend and fellow countrymen Junky Twins’s label, Flammable records. About this time the fantastic Mr Burn’s production career went into overdrive with “Pure Feelings” (Flammable), No.1 smash collab with Tom Parr “From Yesterday” (Technical Recordings) and the collab with Rock Shocker & Steve Axid “Here We Are” (AH Recordings) all being released.
With some massive tracks in collaboration with Technical and Ant Reynolds locked, loaded and ready to be detonated on the dancefloor in 2013 DJ Alex Burn is one to watch!
